Welcome to Mind Mastery
SEND Mastery is a clinically informed intervention programme designed to support children and young people with ASD, ADHD, ADD, PDA, ODD and GDD to better understand themselves, regulate their emotions and develop the skills they need to thrive in school and life.
At the heart of SEND Mastery is a simple belief: neurodivergent minds are not broken — they are wired differently. Our role is not to “fix” behaviour, but to equip children with tools that help them understand their thoughts, emotions and reactions, while building confidence, resilience and independence.
SEND Mastery blends evidence-informed psychological approaches (CBT and DBT principles) with relational practice, delivered through Dr Dan Hughes’ PACE model Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy. This ensures children feel safe, understood and regulated before learning takes place.
We use high-interest activities such as football, DJing, martial arts, dance and Lego as vehicles for learning, allowing children to practice emotional regulation, focus, confidence and decision-making in real time. Learning is embodied, experiential and meaningful not abstract or worksheet-based.
The curriculum is delivered in structured modules that build progressively:
Identifying Superpowers – recognising strengths and boosting self-esteem
Finding the Fast Lane – understanding hyperfocus and attention patterns
Limitless – challenging rigid and limiting beliefs
Imagination – vision, visualisation and goal-setting
Mood Elevation – recognising and managing emotional states
Amber Behaviours – identifying triggers and early warning signs
Combatting the Fog – preventing overwhelm and shutdown
Eliminating Brain Frustration – introducing meditation and calm focus
Controlled Stop – slowing the mind and nervous system
Emergency Stop – rehearsed strategies for high-intensity emotional moments
Each module is carefully scaffolded to suit children who may struggle with emotional regulation, impulse control, anxiety, sensory overload or rigid thinking.

We start with Superpowers, not what’s “wrong” or “bad”,
We find the strengths they’ve always had.
Because confidence grows when children see,
What they do well is part of who they be.
Next comes the Fast Lane, focus sharp and fast,
Hyperfocus understood — not built to last.
For ADHD, ASD minds that zoom,
We teach when to use it… and when to change the tune.
With Limitless, we loosen rigid thought,
“I can’t” and “never” gently get caught.
For PDA, ODD, anxious minds tight with fear,
Belief expands when pressure disappears.
Imagination helps the brain rehearse,
Visualisation makes futures less adverse.
When language is hard or emotions feel loud,
Seeing success first makes confidence proud.
Then Mood Elevation comes into play,
Learning feelings rise and fall each day.
Not stopping emotions — just learning the climb,
So reactions don’t hijack the mind every time.
With Amber Behaviours, we slow things down,
Spot early signals before meltdown town.
Triggers mapped safely, without shame or blame,
So regulation becomes part of the game.
Combatting the Fog clears overload and freeze,
Preventing shutdowns before they seize.
For GDD, ADD minds overwhelmed by noise,
We build routines that protect their poise.
Then Eliminating Brain Frustration, soft and slow,
Meditation introduced in ways they’ll grow.
Not forced stillness — just moments of calm,
Helping nervous systems settle and warm.
With Controlled Stop, we quiet the rush,
The racing thoughts, the internal push.
Breath, grounding, movement — tools to choose,
So the child regains control they didn’t lose.
And finally, Emergency Stop, brakes on tight,
When emotions flood with too much might.
Safe strategies, rehearsed ahead,
Protect the child when regulation’s fled.
This works because learning isn’t just explained —
It’s felt, moved, played and safely trained.
Through football, DJing, dance and fight,
Martial arts, rhythm, movement, light.
Delivered with PACE — playful, kind,
Acceptance first, curiosity in mind.
CBT and DBT guide the way,
But connection always leads the play.
Different minds don’t need less — they need right,
