Welcome to Mind Mastery
Mind Mastery’s Early Years Trauma & Attachment Intervention is a trauma-informed, developmentally sensitive programme designed to support children who have experienced early adversity, disrupted attachment, emotional neglect or traumatic stress.
Our intervention helps children understand what has happened to them, how their brain and body learned to survive, and how they can regain safety, confidence and control. We do not pathologies behavior. Instead, we teach children that their responses make sense and that healing is possible.
Mind Mastery uses movement, creativity and play to regulate the body before engaging the mind. Activities are not distractions, they are therapeutic vehicles that allow children to practice emotional skills in real time.
This intervention is especially effective for children impacted by attachment disruption, trauma, neglect or early instability, offering a pathway from fear and dysregulation toward safety, confidence and connection.
Mind Mastery does not rush healing. We walk alongside children, helping them understand their story and empowering them to write the next chapter with hope, strength and resilience.
Real stories from students, parents, and educators we support
The interventions Mark and his team offer have been well-received by students, with other students across the school community knocking on my door to ask if they can be added to the waiting list for the next round of interventions.
The sessions have been purposeful and impactful, and a number of students have been observed to utilise the strategies Mark explores through his curriculum when accessing time out from lessons.
I am delighted with the positive working relationship Mark and Mind Mastery have established with Maghull High School and I am incredibly grateful to be able to offer such support for our students.
Poems
At Mind Mastery, first we help them see,
“You’re not broken — your brain protected you, you see.”
The Meerkat stood watch, the Owl stepped aside,
The Elephant stored memories deep inside.
We teach them their story, their brain and their fear,
Why big feelings appear when danger feels near.
Through play and through kindness, with PACE as our guide,
We sit with their feelings — not push them aside.
We map body alarms, the tremble, the race,
The tight little tummy, the flushed little face.
We name the triggers, we slow things right down,
So meltdowns don’t sneak in and take over the town.
We climb Mood Elevators, step by small step,
Catching feelings before they’re too big to be kept.
We teach them that thoughts can shout or be kind,
And help them rewrite what trauma designed.
We build Safe Places inside of their head,
With breathwork and tapping and words softly said.
The body learns calm, the mind starts to rest,
As safety returns to the nervous system’s nest.
Through stillness and movement, through drawing and play,
We show them the tools they can use every day.
From “I can’t” into “can,” from fear into choice,
We help them reconnect with their brave inner voice.
We spot hidden strengths, the powers they gained,
From surviving the storms that once deeply pained.
We help them see futures with hope shining through,
A Future Me calm, confident, true.
At last, they create a plan just their own,
A calm little toolkit they’ve carefully grown.
With habits, with care, with routines that restore,
They leave knowing they’re safe — now and more.
This is Mind Mastery — steady, aware,
Where healing feels possible, gentle and fair.
Not fixing, not forcing, just helping them grow,
From trauma to thriving — at their pace, their flow.
